What made you choose a career in criminal law?
As a child, I was always the argumentative type. I liked to be outspoken and voice my view and opinions, especially when I saw an injustice. I also don’t take kindly to bullies. I like being to defend people, being in a courtroom, and fighting for my clients. I do my best work in front of a jury during trial.
In your opinion, what sets your firm apart from other firms in the area?
You will get high quality personal service from me as your lawyer. I will view you as a human being and will treat you with the utmost level of respect, kindness, and compassion. There is no one who will fight more aggressively than me for your safety and liberty. I will care about you and your family. I care about your future and the consequences of your case. I will develop a relationship with you that will last beyond your case itself. I want to be a lawyer that you can always turn to, no matter what.
Tell us about a case that you are particularly proud of:
Although there are many, perhaps I am most proud of saving a client from receiving the Death Penalty. I also feel incredibly proud every time I hear the words “not guilty” by the jury foreman.
What steps do you take to prepare for a difficult case?
The key to a successful defense is not just knowing the facts of the case, but to be understanding of the event in a way that you can be convincing to the jury and judge. You have to live and breathe your case scenario. You need to know every intimate part of every piece of evidence. You need to know the witnesses on a deeper level in order to appreciate and understand their character. You have to investigate everything about the case, leaving no stone unturned. You have to be relentless and never stop until you reach your goal of victory.
How do you view your role in the attorney-client relationship?
I believe the attorney client relationship is sacred. We need to have trust and faith in each other in order to accomplish our goal of winning. There must exist a bond between us that should never be broken. Promises should be kept, honesty should be paramount, and trust should dominate the relationship. I want a client to always feel I have their back till the end.
What sets you apart from other criminal defense attorneys - why is this important?
I believe I have a way with a jury unlike many other trial lawyers. I believe I can communicate with a jury in a way that fosters trust and believability. I am known for my aggressive cross examination skills and my ability to discredit lying witnesses. I am also known to be deliver heartfelt, jaw dropping, and tearful closing arguments on behalf of my clients.
I am a Certified Criminal Law Specialist. This is a specialist reserved for only a select few of lawyers in Criminal Law and Criminal Defense. We reviewed applications, discussed candidates, authored the criminal law specialist exam, and graded the exams.

How does having experience benefit your clients?
My years of experience prepares me to do battle against anything. As a Certified Criminal Law Specialist, I have been tried and tested. I have tried over 100 jury trials. My experience defending people from simple shoplifting to capital murder has prepared me to fight in every conceivable arena of criminal defense.
In your opinion, what is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The most rewarding is being able to fight for someone, knowing that I have their faith in my hands. That I am the only one in the courtroom who is representing them and who they can turn to. I am the only one standing between my client and freedom. I cherish the awesome responsibility of defending someone who’s life and liberty is being challenged.
What advice do you most often give your clients & why?
Always insist on your right to have a lawyer present at any time before, during, and after questioning. When in doubt, always consult your lawyer first. Do not trust anyone else, other than your lawyer. Keep your mouth shut and always assert your rights under the constitution to remain silent and insist on a lawyer present at all times.
